opposed to spending a couple grand on a ITR tranny, how much am i looking to spend trying to add LSD to my JDM GSR tranny and what are my options?.

 

First off, you'll need to choose which LSD you want. Cusco, Phantom Slip, Quaife or OEM ITR among others (I went with the ITR due to price). $300 to $800 is the ballpark price on diffs.

If you're comfortable working on your transmission, you can probably pull the install off in a day or well within a weekend. You'll also need to buy shims to properly install the LSD. I bought the entire set for my transmission and returned the unused parts (as the dealer agreed to do). They're about $5/ea... maybe 20+ of them. If you don't buy all of them at once, you'll measure the space and order the correct shim... and wait for it to be shipped.

 

$1000 for a Quaife or Kaaz, new diff bearings, shims, sealer, and beer.

For the GSR tranny + ITR LSD you'll need one of these shims: L, M, or N (they range in size from 1.15 - 1.35 mm)

 

where can i find ITR LSD cheap

 

were the bearings, shims and sealers oem? or they were aftermarket since your putting on aftermarket lsd?

 

i have brand new quaife lsd's for 785.

Mine were OEM since the LSD was out of an USDM ITR. The beer doesn't have to be domestic though, depending on your liking

About $1000 sounds right. Go with the Quaife.

 

i wonder how much Acura would charge for the ITR LSD.

 

Yeah, but where can you find a dealer that sells JDM Acura parts? I need to know because I'm about to rebuild a JDM tranny.
