Default Adapting 2.5" test pipe to 2.25" manifold

Well, I just dropped several thousands of dollars on a B16A complete changeover with limited slip and such for my EG6, as well as numerous other parts to go along with it, BUT I have one thing I need to get figured out as quickly as I can before it arrives in a few days.
It'll come with the factory manifold on it, which is 2.25", but I ordered a Buddy Club Spec II exhaust (2.5") for it, and I was going to get a 2.5" test pipe since I have no cat to put on it and I plan to get a header in the near future. So what exactly would I need to make the 2.5" test pipe adapt to the 2.25" manifold? Links would be the ****!

Quick bump before I go to bed, I suppose... I'm looking for a solution that doesn't require welding, by the way, if it exists. Haha I've just always done headers and exhaust at the same time, but I'm not able to do that this time.

I think you have more then one option to fix this problem. The first one would be what you're already wanting to do. You could get a 2.5 inch length adjustable test pipe as well as a new 2.25 donut gasket for the manifold, and hope that the mani with the donut gasket fits inside of the bigger test pipe well enough to seal without leaking. Or you could just get the smaller 2.25 inch test pipe, which will bolt up the mani fine, and should utilize the same size flange as the buddy club exhaust allowing it to bolt up just fine.

If it were me, I think I would just order a 2.25 inch test pipe to bolt up to the manifold. I'm pretty sure that the buddy club exhaust will bolt up to the 2.25 inch test pipe easier then a 2.5 inch test pipe would to a 2.25 manifold. The bolt holes on the flanges may not line up the greatest. Good luck.

Wow, the first time I checked my old e-mail account in MONTHS and I see that this thread had a reply! Haha, that's lucky. But yeah, I believe I got a 2.5" donut gasket, and that worked perfectly fine. I went from factory manifold, to a header with a 2.5" out, and then back to the stock manifold, and the donut gasket has worked gloriously every step of the way without even the slightest of leaks. Hope that helps!
