ACT Clutches??
is it TRUE that ACT Clutches are OEM/Stock???? i was informed, all ACT does is grind away the OEM/stock logo and #, then repaint it yellow and restamp it with the "ACT"....... that was what i told by my mechanic.... i didnt believe them on what they had told me.. but then they later showed me an ACT clutch for which it had happened.... and said most CLUTCH companies does that, except CENTERforce
There are 3 stages to choose from. The first stage is stock. The second stage is "modified" I just bought one, along with the heavy duty pressure plate, and it sure doesn't look stock to me!
i dont have a dam clue.. b/c the mechanic told me that ACT clutches are OEM, and all ACT does is..... grind out the OEM logo and restamp it with "ACT"..... and resells it as ACT.....
hmm..i havent felt any oem clutches grab as hard as the ACT... i have a ACT 6 puck and full face for my 1st gen b16. feels totally different from oem.. and the pedal pressure pushes my leg back out.!
I highly doubt this. Act pressure plates are much firmer in the pedal than ANY stock clutch. Plus, even a ITR clutch will slip under substantial power, ACT's will hold up to much more power than any stock clutch. Plus, they have a warranty as well.

ACT use* to take OEM pressure plates (pp) rip off the old and add the own diaphrams to them to make them stiffer...it worked well enough to give them a good name for hondas but not as well as their new 100% ACT pp's...
so it is true???? so the shop that i went to wasnt trying to screw me.... my boy is there getting his clutch changed.... (its a vdubb) but still clutch is a clutch.. and the shop told him to stick with the SACHS clutch (which is the oem vw clutch) which they say is the same clutch that ACT offers for his car.......

Come on dude...how the hell do you think they could saty in business if they did that? I mean damn, your mechanic is a moron. If he believes this truly, tell him this:
I have a great way for him to make EASY money. Just go buy a bunch of Honda Civics and replace the "HONDA" and "CIVIC" emblems with "RETARD MECHANIC" emblems then he has his own brand of car.
I wouldn't take my car back to him if he talks nonsense like that.
