Accord Shift Boot Removal
I am having trouble removing the shift boot cover on my 91 Accord. I have the Haynes manual and I am following the procedure specified, but am having no luck pulling the shift boot down, which is required before unscrewing the shift ****. Any tricks or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You.
Put a flat head screw driver between the top of the shift boot and the shift ****, twist it genlty to start the boot down. Try going at it from at least four different sides.
Assuming it is the kind of shift **** that locks in with the boot, it has two pins on either side of the **** (left and right side). You need to depress both of those before it will come off cleanly. When i took mine off way back when i muscled it off. I was lucky and didnt break the tabs but they seem easy to break.

just pull down on the clip that is underneath the vinal/leather boot really hard, it will unclip, no need to worry about breaking anything, i drive a 96 accord and they're the same type of shifter **** and assembly essentially. I've taken off the plastic bordering holding onto the shift boot and center console trim panel that holds the deck and buttons in place more than 20 times, its solid enough.
