Default 99 htch starting problems

Hey all,

My 99 Honda has trouble starting in the hot afternoon or if my car has been driven for awhile. My 99 will stale any time it wants. Worse times is 30 key turns till car runs again.

My car start in cold weather or not driven a lot. Example start car to and from work no worries. Go some where for lunch and run errors it will not start back up.

Starter is fine - because my car is turning over 30 times after it stales
Battery is fine - test it with my multi meter 14.2V when idle

All in all my 99 is great. Just when I turn off the car I have trouble starting it.

Note:
My 99 gets wet inside when it rains. Not when is not moving i.e. washing. If it rains and I drive it. My wheel well has water and my floor board has water. In fact I put my finger in the carpet and its about 1/2 inch of water.

Thanks to all
JC

Do you have an AF gauge? You could be running very rich after running for awhile, so rich in fact it's too much fuel for your plugs to ignite. check your plugs for a black carbon deposit (it'll probably look wet). Also check your ignition system and make sure everything's firing properly.

The water issue is not good. It's possible that water is shorting out some electronics causing the issue, check your distributor cap also for wetness on the inside. Wouldn't hurt to check the plugs too, just to do it.

Any idea where the leak is coming from? That really isn't a good thing if you can touch the carpet and it's saturated with water.

sounds like you have a combination of a bad ignition switch and main relay

Okay after going through all you have said, I found that I have a head gasket leak. Could this be the problem
