Default 99 Civic fuel in oil

Ive been working on a 99 civic ex with a d16, the car initially wouldnt start or do anything, had spark and fuel, compression wasnt the best, i figured out that it was dumping fuel in the cylinder because the ECT was toast. I lubed up the rings, cleaned the plugs and it started and ran for about 15 seconds, i smelled fuel in the oil, I feel like if i lubed up the cylinder walls and let it sit for awhile and let the fuel and crap evaporate from the cylinder and did an oil change it would run fine? I just need some thoughts, otherwise im guessing the rings are shot thanks!

did an oil change, lubed up the cylinders, unplugged the injectors and it started up and ran just fine on carb clean, the second you plug in any injector it dies
