I was driving home from work and my car started sputtering and died. Towed it home and tried starting it and it started up but as soon as i gave it gas it died. now just cranks but won't fire up. Did some tests like loosening bolt on fuel filter and turned key and gas sprayed out. Humming sound coming from AICV area. Is fuel pump bad? Car has new distributor. Thanks.

 

Turn the car onto the on position (dont start the car) and see if you can hear the fuel pump prime if not that maybe your problem. Also when you loosen the fuel filter tighten it back down before starting or else it will continue to spray gasoline. Alsoooooo check your sprak plugs, spark plug wires. Dizzy should be good if you bought it new and not used. Hope that helps.

 

Fuel relay, check your rotor cap, ecu fuse,

 

Changed the Fuel Filter, Fuel pump, fuel regulator, and checked main relay and getting spark in all plugs. Driving me crazy. Fuses are ok as well. Car just keeps cranking over and killing battery every time. Distributor and rotor are new.

 

Are the injectors pulsing?

Try starting the engine then remove spark plug(s) and see if they are "wet" with gas.

Also, how are you testing for spark, are you using an HEI spark tester, if not, get one. 94
