car wont start question
i have a 93 del sol bone stock automatic
no spark so i changed the rotor and cap. i checked the fuses and grounding and its fine. the car cranks, i smell gas but i dont hear the fuel pump priming.and when i open the gas tank theres pressure. im about to check the main relay about right now ill brb.
did my fuel pump crap out because when i crank it to start i can smell gas. also could the main relay cause my car not to spark. i have a feeling its my distributor and fuel pump. any suggestions?
about a month ago i changed the battery and alternator if that helps

Re: car wont start question (torzy)
check fuses and relays pertaining to the fuel system and ignition, if none of those are bad...turn your ignition switch to the on or accessory position, you should hear the fuel system pressurize, and electric motor sound. if you hear that try turning your car on. if it doesnt...check your fuel filter banjo bolt if alot of fuel pours out(i mean alot) then your getting fuel so its probably not that next you probably want to work backwards on this check your plugs back to your ignition switch chances of you working back that far are slim to none, unless its something major.

well obviously if u don't hear ur fuel pump that's the problem, but it's not neccessarily the fuel pump, first turn it to the on position (where the lights in the cluster light up) and leave it there for about 5 seconds, u should hear the fuel pump prime and pressureize the system, if you don't, check ur fuel pump relay, if that's okay, then it's probably ur fuel pump
