98 civic - Engine won't turn over
I tried to start my 98' civic earlier in the week, but the engine won't turn over. I have checked to confirm I have a spark in two of my plugs, I can hear my fuel pump start up, and my battery seems to have plenty of juice (I even tried jumping it just to confirm). We hit my starter a few times, though I didn't initially think it could be the starter.
I appreciate any ideas on what to do. Extra details on how to do any extra checks are helpful. I plan to have my car towed to a shop, but I'd like to know what is wrong first, so that I can order the parts.
I tried to embed a video with sound of the problem, but I'm not positive it will work. I can post it to youtube if someone wants to hear what is going on if embedding it in this post didn't work.

what i got from your post is that the motor isnt turning at all. if that is true the motor having spark and your fuel pump kicking on has nothing to do with this but first i would make sure that you are getting power to your starter and starter cilinoid and if you are then you probably need a new starter or starter cilinoid.... i hope this helps
I had this happen to me and seen it on a few of my customers cars were the ring gear comes loose from the flywheel. So it it sounds like the starter is tuning and the motor isn't the that is ur problem good luck
Well... my engine was flooded. The car had been cut on and cut off very quickly the day before when the car was blocked in my garage by another car in my driveway. Apparently this happens with Civics of this year sometimes. The shop went ahead and changed the spark plugs and rotor button (It was certainly fair to pay them to do something since they diagnosed and fixed my problem), but luckily it wasn't anything significant. Hope this helps someone else in the future.
