i got a 97 gsr running stock ecu for now but have my fields vtec controller on, when i rev it it starts redlining at 6200 what could be the problem i also got msd 6al, please let m eknow asap

 

in your msd, what rpm chip is in there??

 

it has 9k msd pill, sometimes it redline to 8k then sometimes to 6k weird.

 

is your check engine light on?
if it IS, you may have a code thats throwing the ecu into limp mode. that causes a rev limit around 6000. its usually a major sensor thats broken, or not connected etc.
if your CEL is off. take off the MSD POS and try the stock ignition.

 

my check engine light is on cause im running skunk2 manifold so the secondary sensor is off, but i tried putting my boys skunk2 ecu the engine light is still on, so it might be a wiring from the vtec controller, or what could it be.

you need to jump your service connector and find out!
the engine light is probably somthing serious (meaning an important sensor) that is causing the ecu to run in limp mode (no vtec, low redline, etc)
