Hey guys, I've got a 95 Prelude VTEC. Today my check engine light came on - so I checked the service connector and it threw code #12. This is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) code. The car seems to be running fine though... just wondering if anyone else has had this code thrown and what the remedy would be. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then put it back on and see if it still throws this code. If so then do the troubleshot via your helms to see if for whatever reason your EGR went bad.

 

That code is sometime on because the EGR is not working or is leaking... you should test it with a vaccum pump and make sure it holds vaccum. If not replace with a new one... you will fail smog and have high nox reading....
