Default 95 Prelude VTEC threw Engine Code - help!

Hey guys, I've got a 95 Prelude VTEC. Today my check engine light came on - so I checked the service connector and it threw code #12. This is the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) code. The car seems to be running fine though... just wondering if anyone else has had this code thrown and what the remedy would be. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys,
Jeff

welll it only has to do with the egr valve on your intake manifold, so just check and make sure the vacume line is conected on both ends, and the same with the electric plug!

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable
for about 5 or 10 minutes.

Then reattach it and start your car, see if the code is still there.

i wouldnt bother cleaning it, unless you gotta pass smog....mines disconected.....your car will not run bad with bad egr..

or you could leave it on and clean it

just get a little straw thing on your carb clean bottle and spray under where you can reach through to the diaphragm....spray it good, then work the diaphragm up and down for like 10 minutes....spraying every like 30 seconds....

that should free it up, or you could plunder one from your archives of Import Replacement Parts...

when youre done disconnect the battery for 30 secs.....lets the ecu reset
