Default 94-97 integra ABS vs. 98-01

I have a 97 integra and was wondering if you could swap the abs unit and lines for a 98-01 version. I have a jdm front with HID's and my 97 abs unit hits the ballasts.
the electrical plugs look the same, any help or suggestions appreciated.

no it will not work. i have a 96 ls & put a 2000gsr in. & tried changing that out cause it was smaller & the plugs look the same but are diff. now i know the lines will work because it all goes to the same spot but the wires dont. i said pump the whole thing & got ride of abs tottaly & it took 2 hours, well worth it. u can do it with the motor in.

It's possible, but it's not that easy. I've bought all the parts to do the conversion from ebay, but I haven't had the time to do the conversion yet.

You need 1) the ABS pump, and 2) the ABS computer (hidden next to the passenger-side rear speaker). In addition, you need the wiring connectors, which are different between the two models, both on the pump and on the computer. There's fewer wires on each, so it should be easy to cut off the old connectors and splice on the new ones. I believe there's also a small change in the circuitry in the instrument panel for the ABS warning light. Lastly, you have to re-bend the brake lines to fit the new pump. I haven't tried yet, but they should fit because I think the lines for the new unit are a little shorter, but you'll need a line bender so you don't kink them. I'm planning to get new stainless steel 3/16" line and replace all the lines in the engine bay with that, because I think rebending the existing lines won't look quite as good.
