93 civic cluster light problem...

Default 93 civic cluster light problem...

I have a 93 civic ex and i put a 3 autometer gauges in and I tapped into the dimmer switch the red wire with the black trace for a 12v source but my problem now is all the bigger bulbs in the brown twist locks in the cluster burnt out ... I don't understand why ... I tapped into the now solid 12v not the variable voltage wire ... any help would be great thanks ... No burnt out fuses and brake lights work and all

The red/black illumination lead is a 12V "not variable voltage" dash light brightness is controlled by the ground, [red lead] from the "Dash Lights Brightness Controller" that you are most likely not using for the Auto Meter gauges.

Exactly which Auto Meter gauges do you have? 94

The black with red trace is the one I tapped into for the power ... I have a boost gauge , tach, fuel pressure, and oil pressure lights on hooked to it ... It's not over loaded cuz then o woulda popped the instrument panel fuse , correct? BTW thanks for responding

It is not over loaded, or as you mention, the fuse would blow.

I mean exactly what model numbe of gaugs(s) do you have? 94
