My 1987 CRX si won't start. It started yesterday when i accidently left the phone charger in the cigarette lighter outlet. i noticed it after work. i tried starting it but it wouldn't. It would crank but it won't stay on. I called a mechanic freind of mines and he checked the cap and rotor and said it was bad. I replaced it today and it still won't start. I still hear the fuel pump so it can't be that. Do you think the coil is messed up?
What do you suggest I look at?

 

Check all of the fuses that are under the hood.

Make sure you put the spark plug wires back on right.

Make sure you have gas in the tank and prime the pump a few times.

 

Does it have spark?

 

yeah. and i hear the fuel pump pumping... i am stumped... no codes either...

 

Is it flooded?

 

might have washed out the rings, unplug the fuel injectors and crank til it starts, otherwise if no spark sheck the ignitor

 

got it towed last night and the driver says it might be a glogged fuel filter... thanks for the info... i need my beater running soon.

 

I would suggest fuel filter.....sorry I didn't see this yesterday.
