Default 87 civic, with carb'd d15

hey, a buddy of mine has an 87 civic with a Carburated d15.. i'm wondering what kind of performance possibilities there are for that car and motor??
i told him swap but he cant afford that. he's been wanting a MSD ignition, but i told him its not worth it cuz he cant benefit anything from it.

does anyone have experience with these old cars and/or have suggestions on how to make it have better performance?

thanks in advance

pretty much if its carbed its a total pain to do the swap. you have to basically swap all the fuel lines and wire harnesses out to put any fuel injected motor in. if you do this though you will have a fast little car. the most common swap is a 1g integra motor (us version of the zc). these motors are cheap but it would by no means be an easy swap.

btw i didnt mention performance possibilities oh the d15 for a reason

get a set of webber carbs, get a header, do the exhaust, get a better fuel pump, upgrade plugs and wires, and be sure to upgrade the suspension. those cars can move pretty damn fast with that done to it. we have one of those that has those mods to it that autox's and he is top of his class.
