My 5v yellow wire on my tps is reading high numbers like 11-12 volts at idle. Why? and what can i do to fix

 

 

dude ur pcm might be f ed up its suppose to regulate that

 

could be shorted to voltage somewhere in the harness, being that those numbers are so close to battery voltage. Try cutting the wire right at the ecu connector on the pine for tps reference and also at the tps plug and running a different wire and see what your numbers look like, if they are still high, your ecu is phucked. Also a poor ecu ground will skew your reference voltages upwards....but your car would run like complete crap if that were the case

wouldnt that be a short to power thou? so other things would be effected also if it was a pcm ground all the sensor would be messed up

 

well i checked the 5v wire on my map sensor and it was also showing battery voltage
