ok so my fifth gear keeps poping out on my 2000 b18b engine..the tranny is an RS tranny..same year

and 5th gear just wont stay in unless i keep it in there by me pushing on it in the car..but its still pops out at times..

do i need a new tranny? or is this fixable some how?

ive had same problems with my gsr tranny. that can occur becuz of a few things, either because of the syncros or the tranny fluid. my problem was that some the fluid had leaked out and it was not running on enough. try draining out the transmission and puting new fluid in somwhere around 2-2.5 quarts. until it gets full. put the honda stuff. if it still isnt working, then mostlikely its ur syncros

 

make sure there is fluid!
