4th gear where are you
GSR medium ratio tranny , well its a hybrid its short ratio but yeah u get the idea its a mixture tranny
Umm 2nd time it has happend, about 4th time ive had problems but only 2times has it missed the gear.
got my car back and it had a nasty accident so i dunno if something happend then but meh. I run fine got power all gears are fine, except when i go to dump into 4th at higher rpms i would say 8grand ( happend once at 6grand in 3rd and i got a NASTY suprise findin 2nd )
I was rippin around tonite tryin to figure it out, and it was workin fine until i let it rip on the freeway , 8grand in 3rd i go to put into 4th and it flies into 2nd i realize my mistake quickly and it never gave me the sign of hittin fuel cut off but i did go into 2nd for a split second but since i knew this may happend i hammered the brakes spiked the clutch and threw it into neutral.
No synchro grind it pops into gear great, so i dunno whats goin on. Ive been watchin my shiftin and how i throw the shifts and no issues there. PLUS i drove 2 other standards this weekend and raced great at the track with no miss shifts so i got no clue.

Me thinks you're shifting wrong. If I had to guess, I'd say you've got your left hand on the wheel, probably at the top, and your right hand stays on the shifter with a firm grip, ready to pull it into the next gear. This is a recipie for everything you just mentioned. Instead of having your hand wrapped around the shifter, try this: keep your hand off the shifter until you shift. Don't even put it there to "get ready". Keep it on the wheel, 9 and 3 o'clock feels nice. Then, when it's really time to shift, move your hand down, and cup it around the shifter. Don't wrap your fingers around it, just guide it into gear. If you're in first or third, use your fingers to push the front of the shifter toward you. If you're in second or fourth, use the heel of your hand to push it away from you. The transmission doesn't want to go into second from third, but if you jerk the shifter down and towards your seat, that's just where it's going to go.
If you care about that transmission, and don't feel like replacing it, take it easy on the shifts. There's nothing to gain by shifting Teh UberFast, and there's only an engine and trans to loose.

Well u guessed wrong, i race cars a fair amount, I drive with both hands on the wheel. Reason iwas rippin around tonite was testin the car, cause like isaid before it was having issues. The word dump should be changed to shift but yeah, I put the clutch in and put it into gear.
but yeah i know what you are sayin and thanks, but like i said never had this problem before and also drove other rides with no problem. But yeah ill keep my eye on how im shiftin again. thx?

Reason im postin is im just a little scared, with it cause this happend to a friend where the clip holdin the shifter broke and at the track his b16 crx went from 9grand in 3rd to about 15,000 in 2nd so his engine kinda died. So meh thats all im tryin to avoid. Thx for the post, i guess ill post back if it happens again ??
My apologies then. Thanks for not taking my advice as an attack, I know a lot of people would.
If you've been on track, you know what you're doing.
The only other thought I have is if a shifter fork is bent, and it's not pushing the dogs into gear fully sometimes. You usually wind up losing the gear entirely in that case, but I dunno, maybe it's not bent too badly. Not saying that's definitely the problem, just an idea.

Yeah thanks a lot, ive already started lookin for a new tranny and i dunno i may take it into and just have someone look at it under the lift and see. Sits too low and i dont have a lift that does me good enough.
I know uweren't tryin to attack me. but ima watch myself more as i drive, but i think it maybe caused from the accident that sent it into the shop. bent something or i dunno, it just baffles me cause it works every time except higher rpms. But meh ive made it passed the close calls i guess ill just park it and no more track time
thanks for the advice tho.
