if a wheels has 8 holes for the lugs(4-lug wheel), does it make it automatically 4-lug universal or could all 8 lug holes be for one pattern? i ask cuz the following link has wheels id like to buy but he says they are 4x114.3 and has 8 holes. i cant tell by eye if the holes are different sizes. please help, the auction ends soon! thanks

they are not universal they are the honda accord bolt pattern so they will fit the accord prelude and the 4 lug type r

 

Most of the time (with "cheaper" wheels) if they have 8 holes, they are more than likely "universal" bolt pattern and will accomodate both 4x100 AND 4x114.3 patterns. HOWEVER, it looks like those are ONLY 4x114.3 to me. you can tell that the other holes are there just for show, as they are not countersunk to accomodate lug nuts...

So the answer would be NO, they are not "universal," don't buy them if you have a Civic or such with a 4x100 bolt pattern!!!
