Default 4-1 or 4-2-1

This topic may have been beaten to death, I don't know, but I need opinons on wether or not I should geta DC 4-1 or 4-2-1 header(and please no DC sucks and go to a different header comments). I have a friend with a 99 Civic Si that had a 4-1 header and hated it, so he swapped it for a 4-2-1 (both were DC). He said he loves the 4-2-1, but I always see people on HT hatin' on the 4-2-1. Does that header really suck or should I just get the 4-1. I have a 4-2-1 on my CRX and I love it, but my civic's power band is different. So what do you guys think 4-1 or 4-2-1?

Thanks for the help in advance!!

I prefer 4-1 design!

I also have a ceramic DC 4-1 B16 Header for sell!

Go to http://www.headersbyed.com and read up. He likes 4-1 headers.

Since you are running a B16, it doesn't have much tq. Anyway, a 4-2-1 b-series dyno chart will show more tq increase, esp mid-range. Whereas the 4-1 design gives great high-end power. It really depends on what you want. I would rather get a 4-1 itr jdm design because it has proven to give more power. Most bang for buck. Wrap it with dei header wrap, or whatever else, and slap your car on a dyno. Check out http://www.importbuilders.com he has some great graphs to back my statement.

I would go with 4-2-1, they have more HP over the hole RPM range other than right at the very end. Unless your going to up your red line by 1K or more I would stick with the 4-2-1.

drop in a CTR/ITR intake cam and get a USDC 4-2-1 header and you will get both high rpm and mid range TQ/hp increase for about $500

i would go 4-1, no sense in trying to get some mid-range torque at the sacrafice of top-end power, when a b16 will have no torque anyways. I would build a top-end monster
