3600rpm readline
im having the problem on my d15b. one day i was just cruisin and the car just died. the ecu fuse had popped. figured out that one of the wires on my vafc(the one the reads presure and crap) had touched the radio bracket being as i have my radio in the space in front of the cup holder. i replaced the fuse and it started but now the car is extremely under powered and it redlines at 3600 or so rpm. HELP please i got cut off by a geo metro on the highway and could do anything about it because i couldnt catch him . the car wond do anymore than 65mph on its own. downhill 75.
It sounds like you have a dead ecu. Shorting like that seems to have killed some parts inside, as seen by the fuse blowing and the codes for the sensors. Best idea is to quit beating the **** out of the thing, because it's running way rich. Find another ecu to try.
yea i got a new ecu and same **** could it be the tps because i pulled it out while the car was running and no change in the way the car was running but when i pull out the map it runns like if a have a nasty cam.
yea my bro in law is having this same problem with his mini me vtec 90 si....but instead drives around town fine, but the second you get on it, it starts to loose power at 3500 rpm then cuts out at 5500....dont know what is wrong with it...ecu is not converted to vtec yet still running the pm6 ecu and dizzy....
oh and i the vtec spool sensor code aslo shoot at me to
but it seems that with the tps sensor disconected it runns better, i get more power, but it backfires constantly when im off the gas

my guess is that the wiring on the vafc got fucked up, I'd pull that bastard out, since Ive never really seen a map sensor go bad, and youve tried 2 different ones, and the vafc connects in between the map and ecu, it makes sence, pull the vafc out and throw it in the garbage, they are damn near useless anyways.
yea thats the first thing i did i cut it out and checked the ecu for codes the only one left that makes sense is the crank position sensor. could that make the ecu go into limp mode?
