3 angle valve job? Help!
What exactly is a 3 angle valve job? I was looking into building up the head of my motor now that the bottom end is built, but honestly im not quite sure exactly what the valve job is or does. Does it require any other modifications like titanium springs or retainers or can you just get the valve job and stay with the stock ones. What exactly does the valve job do too? Is it worth getting one for a built SOHC z6 block? I will get a cam and turbo it down the road but not yet. Will this create a problem later on, or any other cons to it? Thanks for the info,
Matt

the purpose of a valve seat cut is for a smoother airflow in/out. a honda valve seat have 3 angle radius cut - a throat 60 degrees, sealing cut 45 degree, and the last cut is 30 degree. the smoother the valve seat cut the smoother the air flow. some of the newer honda's have 4 angle valve seat cut (k20 motors) it has 90,60,45, and 30 to improve air flow. the heads that i do have a 5 angle radius cut 80,60,45,30, and a 15 degree last cut. however, most machine shop would not do 5 angle for the 45 degree gets to thin. the 45 is the sealing cut and the rest of the cut are to guide the incoming air or outcoming exhaust smoother.
i hope i was able to answer your question.
