What would be so rediculous?? the idea behind putting the 2jz motor in the 240 is to drop 1000 lbs w/o having to hack up the whole car. you obviously havent seen the modified mag issue with the 98 240 with a tubbed back half chassis with a 2jz have you. the rb motors are a joke compared to the 2jz and the parts are way to hard to get over here. you pop a headgasket and have to wait weeks for another or pay 200.00 for overnight shipping.

you asked who need 700hp? in a 3000lb car you need more then 700 just to be lightweight civic with 600whp. I wouldnt want to get beat by a civic in a 240 with a 2j motor. If and when i build a supra i wont stop until 900+whp on boost alone. then the 100shot direct port.

here is a link to backyard getting walked on by our civic. This will show you why 500whp is not enough. D/L the 1st video.

Not tryin to argue but rb's in the 1000hp range are like daily driven cars in japan.... as in it's not all that hard to get that high. Also wondering what you mean by putting in a 2jz is to drop 1000lbs. They are both amazing engines imo, just want some clarification.

OK OK. I will admit I love the Supra. The 2JZ is awesome. But the Supra comes stock with one. It's much easier to add performance to that. the 2JZ doesn't come stock in a NISSAN. To be able to drop one in will be way more money than an SR20 or an RB swap. If you plan on dragging the car ... hey the more HP and TQ the better. If you plan on driving on the streets here in the states than I think those numbers are unreal. Oh well unless you like to leave rubber everywhere at 5 miles a gallon. You plan on using race gas on the street to get your 700 + hp. As far as Japan goes. HAHA. They are in their own league. You turn the corner and you will see a monster ON THE STREET. We don't have that luxury.
