2hp compressor enough to keep valves up????
Air compresser hp has nothing to do with it because there is no air flow required. Any compressor will do.
I bet it'll work as long as it's sealed properly. Be carefull
it will work fine. It just has to build up enough pressure to keep those puppies up, and then be able to keep them like that without having any leaks.
SCC had another way of doing this without compressed air when they did a cam change on their Neon project. They filled the cylinder with rope and brought it close to TDC. The rope compressed up against the valves and held them closed. Just be sure (1) that you use a rope that does not shed fibers (use something like nylon and NOT hemp), and (2) that you leave a generous length of rope coming out of the spark plug hole. Otherwise, you might find yourself pulling your head off to remove the rope.

i just continuously moved the pistons to tdc when i did mine. worked just fine. just do cylendars 1-4 and 2-3 together and it will be fairly efficient. the valves wont drop but a little bit and give you more than enough room to do the work.
