2007 odyssey a/c clutch out-can it be replaced w/o freon bleed
I have a 2007 odyssey that needs a a/v clutch. Can i do this w/o taking it off the vehicle and dumping freon? Any special tools needed to get off the clutch? Trying to do this repair myself as dealer wants $800. Clutch is only $135.

It may be possible to pull the A/C compressor clutch without pulling the compressor, you need 8+ inches of clearance in front of compressor for pullers, you also need the proper pullers.
$800 is excessive, If we did it it would be $120 for the recharge, $2/oz for refrigerant, [R134A], $80 - $160 to re&re the compressor, $40 to re&re the clutch = $320 + around $40-$50 for refrigerant.
The above assumes a 1 -2 hr re&re on compressor if needed, [like most Honda/Acura] not needed on many just to replace clutch.
I would find an A/C shop and get a price from them, the dealer shops always looks for the most expensive way to do things, like removing the compressor, [recovery and recharge] even if it is not needed, we never remove compressor to replace clutch assembly if we do not need to... http://airwolfeautoair.com/ 94
