2000 Si head problem???

Default 2000 Si head problem???
My 00 Si wont start...so i took off the valve cover and one of the cam journals looked burnt....it was on the intake cam the last journal the one closest to the cam gear so i took it off and the cam had grinded into it and was all eatn up along with the journal. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen and if the head is still good?

bad valve adjustment is all i can think.
