Default 2000 gsr. engine problems, blue/black smoke

Hello

I want to buy a local acura integra 2000 gsr thats selling in the autotrader.

The seller is selling it pretty danm cheap but the reson why is because the engine seems to be burning oil

Heres is what it does:

we took it so far for 2 test drives with my bother and friend following behind us in my car checking for smoke. they say its smokes, mostly black in color but does have some blue (i also noticed this) which would mean its burning some oil and running rich from what i can tell.

When you rev it up some times it does puff some blue smoke when sitting but mostly pretty clear for the most part

The seller added some oil stop smoke treatment to the oil that i found out so maybe it was even worst before he added the stuff

We also did a compression check on the motor

first time it was: 210 210 215 230

second time: 220 220 225 230

So i seems the compression is ok but a little high? the spark plugs were pretty danm black and looked like there was alot of carbin on them (looks like it was running really rich) on the number 3-4 cylinder it seemed the worst. he also jsut changed the plugs about 2-3weeks ago.

The car does have a header from the previous owner, looks like stock cat, muffer, piping

So the question is what is wrong with the motor. are the rings going or is it just the seals or could it be something else? the motor seems very strong and sounds like it runs fine

So to basicly sum it up, there is black smoke but has some blue to it from the exhaust when you rev it up/drive it, owner has added oil treatment to try stoping the smoke. car has headers, stock cat back. about ~150kilometers on engine (about 90-100miles)

Please help me out, this car wont be around for long.

sounds like rings to me however that wont show up on a compression test, try to see if he will let you do a leak down test. also remember if the price "is pretty damn cheap" then it might be woth it regardless you can always change the bottom end

i was doing some research on honda-tech about the doing a compression check and alot of people say the same thing. That a compression check wont show really how bad the rings are but some say they do... sence the 2 compression rings on top of the piston is what the compression check is doing not the oil ring on the bottom.? but if the oil ring is going wouldn't the compression ring be going as well...?

from what i found....
check compression, if low numbers, add few drops of oil, and if numbers go up then you know its the rings. thats what a couple people said but i never did this sence the numbers were 220-230 and pretty high.

I does seem to burn oil at rev and when driving pretty hard so thats also i good sign from what i gatterd that the rings could be going?.
valve seals smoke when first start up but under warm up and driving it should stop?
