1. what is crankwalk and why does it happen?
2. in a 5 speed transmission, does 4th gear always have a 1:1 ratio, and in a 4 speed auto is 3rd always 1:1?

 

1.crankwalk is what happens when you get premature wear in your crankshaft thrust bearing, so that the crank moves when ever the clutch is depressed. this was a huge problem on 2gen eclipses.

2.no, it depends on the gearing of the tranny and the fd ratio.
