2.4 L....is it worth it?!?
Okay got some of the small stats on the new 2.4!!!
160@6000 BHP and 162@3600 lb-ft. WHOA, Honda made an engine that puts out more torque than horsepower. But, is the piddley 160 Hp worth the weight and torque?

Well it's not the first engine from Honda to be so close (hp/tq). Remember the H23A? 160hp/158lb-tq. Don't see too many people bothering to swap it over though, so I don't think it'll be much different for a 2.4L. BTW anybody what engine family this is from? B24? H24? Or is this a new motor as well?

If you are talking about the new CRV motor, its gonna be a K-series motor like the new RSX, Si and other upcoming Honda products. I think with aftermarket internals to raise compression and the head off a K20A2(rsx-s) It will make a killer swap into the new Si, or even RSX type S.

I think the 2.4 liter will be a great swap into a 7th gen civic coupe. Mate it up to an RSX tranny and you are all set. I am only wondering how the wiring harnesses work in the new 7th gens?

At least this monster has i-VTEC to start with. Should make swapping an RSX Type S head on there much easier.
Problem is, you think the b20b/z had a big stroke? The new CRV engine has a huge stroke of 99mm!! I wouldn't want to rev that to 8000. The bore is a nice 87 mm though.
What is the bore of the new RSX? 84? I am thinking destroke the CRV with an RSX crank if possible.
Anyone know the rod lenght on the new motor?

the rsx-s block already does 200hp @ 2.0L
so sticking to the 100hp/L ratio that sucker
would pop out 240hp with an insane ammount
of torque. then just strap on a blower and weeeeee

More horsepower than torque isn't a good thing, people. It just means that the engine either doesn't rev very high, or it doesn't make any power up high.
And to get 100 hp/liter, you've got to do both. With a stroke of 99mm, you'll be lucky to see 7,000 rpms, much less 8. The piston speeds are going to be ridiculous in that engine.
For a car like the CR-V, it's perfect - good low-end torque for daily driving & light off-road duties.
For a car that an enthusiast would want to drive, it'd be horrible.

Well, at least not swappable into anything other than the RSX?

If it is a K-series then wouldn't it spin clockwise and there fore not be swappable!!!

The newest civic also is a canidate for the swap, as mentioned in a post above.
