I found a first gen Mitsubishi Eclipse for sale in my town. You might be thinkin big woop, but any import for sale here is rare. The thing is it's got a body kit that I don't like, and it's the SOHC non turbo model. would I be able to swap in the GSX or GST motor/drivetrain easily? The car is only $800 and I'll be able to get it in a couple weeks. Does It have potential or don't bother? How much $ and work will it take for the swap?
i would try a dsm site, but in my opinion i wouldnt bother, sounds like to much work, maybe try looking in a city somewhat near you for a car, hell i drove a 6 hr round trip for some wheels, but it was a good deal to, so just a thought
You can find a 1st gen (even second gens) if you look HARD for the same price that is already turboed and even AWD. Start with the right car, it is easier on your budget in the long run and a lot less work. Think about it, it isn't what you want now, do you think that after spending x amount of $ that it will be? Saving for a while longer and traveling a bit is worth the wait.
Something to think about.
