Default 1994 Honda Motor Problem: Help Needed

Greetings Honda-tech I ran into a problem with my car and was wondering if anyone could help me out with a diagnosis, and what I could do, anyway...

My car has been well maintained, oil recently changed, and it passed my state inspection. The other day I noticed a slightly deeper tone coming from under my hood, I paid it no mind because it seemed negligible. Today, I turn my car on and it starts up like I've installed a cheap exhaust system. Now when I step on the gas it makes the deep sound synonymous with aftermarket exhaust. However, rather than the sound coming from my tailend the sound is coming from the engine. The car drives fine other than this nuisance which has proven to be very annoying.

Thanks for your time guys, and any help is appreciated.

U have manifold or a header on there?

I also hav a 94 ls b18b1 teggy and i had the same problem for lil while but fixed it.
Try gettin in ur car and let it idle. PUsh the gas in one time and listen to what sound its making. If there is a sudden woosh at the end then most likely it is a leak up near manifold or header(w/e u have).

Take it off and take a look at the gasket. That was the problem with mine, i accidently tightened down the header too much to where it crushed the gasket instead of insullating against the block.
The torque specs:
header is 23 ft lbs
manifold is 18 ft lbs

hoope this helps

yeah, get under that thing with it running, you'll notice the leak pretty easily, either that or bring it to a muffler shop and get an estimate, sounds like either the header gasket, flex pipe, or a break in the exhaust at the resonator (pretty common on stock exhaust)
