JK, Just a stock one is about as good as it'll get without changing those two. Why isn't that an option?

You can put anything you want in there. You can do it if you chip your current ecu and have it tuned to whatever motor you put in it. Youll have to run some extra wiring for vtec if you go that route. The si/ex wiring harness will make it easier though.

The 1993 if it is pre june of 1993, the shock tower plugs are wired for VTEC.

You could go with a B16,GSR,ITR,H22,H2B, all on that harness, you will have to make few modifcations if you go with an H series (Extend charge harness because of front mounted alternator) and if you go with a B series vtec, you just need to wire the VTEC wires to the shock tower.

The ECU will always have to be changed with the engine but changing the ecu is as simple as pulling 3 plugs.

If you go with a GSR swap, get an aftermarket intake manifold because the factory D15 harness will not have any way to run the IAB's unless you wire them to the GSr ECU.

Usually when you purchase an engine swap, the engine harness will be included so you dont even have to pull the harness off our your D series. Most honda swaps are plug and play.
