1990 Honda Accord Trans or Wiring Problem?
have a 1990 Honda Accord that while I was driving it recently it started making a grinding noise and the speedometer starting going all crazy and stopped working and the car started slowing down while making a grinding noise. I pulled over and tried to see what the problem was. The car will turn over and run but it will not move when I try to drive it. It just starts and runs. Then when I put the car in park mode it makes a grinding sound like something is grinding or clicking somewhere. My question is, is this a transmission problem or some type of electrical problem?Because my radio just went out on my car like it has a short in it and it goes in and out. Could this have some type of connection to the car and what is wrong with it or does it sound like a tranny problem? If so I don't want to waste my money. How much would it cost to fix if it is a tranny problem using a rebuilt trans if so? Or does it sound like electrical with noise?
My car also has the flashing S in green on the dash board. I looked it up and it says that it means it is in Sports Mode and the green S is for the SPORT in your transmission. You can (or when the car was newer you could) turn on something in the engine that gave it a little "umph" for city driving.
