whats the best size rim for a 2000 civic ek hatch????? 16 or 17???
post your reasons why too..... (also width if u know)

 

17=heavy
16= still heavy but lighter
15=good balance.

i have 17's but i might be selling them or keeping them for crusin only.

 

so a good balance between performance and appearance would be 16s
(so 15= performance 17 = show????_ is that it?

 

yea thats pretty much it.
there are some ultra lightweight 17's out there but there not very strong

and the tires for 17's are freaking expensive. im still debating if i want to sell my 17's or put some tires on them.

 

so what would you suggest i get.. its 2000 stock ek right now but im planning to go up to 250 hp within a year or two....
i like 5 spoke rims.... how much of a difference does the extra weight make (+what if you get racing 17 inch rims.. if that makes any difference)

no such thing as 17 inch racing rims (well there are, but with a 40 profile tire they aint gonna last too long)

i would say 16's or 15's

the weight makes ALOT of diffrence

with my 48lb 17's i run a mid 16
with my stock 33lb steelies i run a high 15.

both weights are with the tire.

 

(in background) 17" ADR spiders (discontinued) on 205/40/17 Kuhmo 712's. Had 'em for over a year around town, to Key West twice, to Miami every other weekend (can you say shitty roads/potholes?!) and not a crack or bend! I know they are not light, but as long as I can still hit 14.1 at 98mph, I'm happy!

 

are there any advantages to 17s whatsoever except for the appearance?
+can someone please post pictures of ek hatches with 5spoke rims (or a website where i can lok at some pictures)

+when you buy used rims from "buy and sell" or some other 2nd hand source how do you know that they are not stolen rims?...is there a way?

 

If your going to want 250hp i would say get a set of 15 inch volks, they light but they will cost you
