13 second prelude
Im in New Zealand, ive got the currently fastest N/A lude in upper north island, its doing 14.508 on 1/4 mile,(proberly slow for you guys, but our fastest N/A in NZ is a 12.2,and fastest turbo Vtec(in austrilasia is a 10.1sec) anyway,i do my time, with full interior(power steer ,Air con etc) i have enlarged throttle body,9.3mm leads, lightened flywheel, lightend under crank pully, high flow air filter+cold air intake, exshast(not extractors) + racing seat, what other kinda mods will see me do a 13 pass?(13.99) cheers, booBAA
Actually, you get an incredible improvement when you strip your car. All that foam and plastic weighs a lot when you add it up. There are also seats, mats, interior trim, sound components, dash, etc. If you're serious about breaking 13's, strip your car like a cheap *****, drop your exhaust from the header-back, get some slicks and run octane booster. I'm sure you'll make it happen.

Open header?! He'll lose all his torque...and power in general for that matter. I don't know about you guys, but when my friend ran open header on his way to Meineke to get something welded, the car was a dog

...run octane booster...
octane booster is bad. causes carbon buildup on valves and other bad things.

Haha whatever you want to think is good enough for you.
Try a head package.I dont know of any shops in NZ but we have plenty you could ship to in the US.Are there any good job openings in NZ i always wanted to move there.Oh yeah i did hit 13's w mine with all the boly ons and a gude head package with slicks and no pass seat, jack or spare.

Where exactly did you hear/ find this tidbit of info? SO, basicly you saying because I run higer octane (93) im going to have carbon build up? Do you know where carbon build up comes from ? Thats right, normal every day combustion. Go figure. Hell my car runs so rich I probably have a half of an inch of carbon build up on my pistons by now since I have been running 93 octane for so long. Im sure if you use the $1.99 bottle of octane booster in your fuel it wont be the best for it.

I've got the fastest Prelude from Kaitaia up.
Try running open header and slicks, and don't run "full interior" <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://rely.net/~htimages/smile/emwink.gif" BORDER="0"> . Otherwise, internal work and dyno tuning.
What is your budget? If you have big bucks to spend, sleeve the motor and run big bores, and slap some high compression pistons in there (12-13:1). Get the head ported by a pro and get yourself some big cams.A big header with a 2 1/2 " collector and a 2 1/2" exhaust. Get a standalone and tune, tune, tune. Add some lightweight drag racing wheels and slicks and you should hit 13's no problem.

yeah you'll lose most of your lowend, but usually gain top end. and in dragging you don't need lowend, except in 1st gear. if running open header you'll see a bit more gain from adding a 2 ft pipe after the header to induce scavenging effect.
