Default 1 lb on a wheel is = to __lbs on car?

What would one lb on a wheel "feel" like how many lb's on the car? I know like on the flywheel every lb lighter makes the car "feel" 50 lbs lighter or something. Does wheel weight also have this effect? I know it does make the car accelerate faster, but what would the ratio be for 1lb on a wheel?

It's supposed to be 1 / 10 on with wheel weight..

but I really don't trust a number like that. It seems way too arbritrary.

I think it's for 1# removed from the wheel you've removed 7# (unsprung) from the car. so to answer your question, 7#.

i always remembered it as 1 pound off the rim is 7 off the car...

so 1lbs off 1 rim = 4 rims = 28 lbs lighter for the car

There realy is no magic number for something like this, since everywheel is different, and WHERE the weight is removed from the wheel can have just as big an effect as HOW MUCH weight. One pound removed from the outer edge of a wheel will have a lot more positive affect on performance then one pund removed from the center......this of course only applies to acceletaion/deceleration.... but maybe that rule of them can give you a ballpark idea....Later!
