This sounds horrendously like the biggest bs excuse i have ever heard for not fixing the car.

Supposedly my car had some kinda of external chip t o the ecu. They made me pay 250 to wire it back to stock and the pos does the same thing. a puttering after 4G then it dies. i know its the damn distributor.

they claim the car had 52 ecu error codes. I know my car can only throw 94? something in that nature.

well im pissed now they are saying i need a ecu however i can't even throw a check engine light. go figure.

any recs? anything i can do??

Other than "puttering after 4000rpm" are there any other problems? For example, is there any odd colored cmoke coming out of the tailpipe? Also, is your car turboed(as stated in screen name)?

 

There is no Code 52 on your ecu. The only Code in the the 50's would be Codes 54 or 58.

 

I think what he is trying to say is that the dealer told him he threw 52 codes, not a code 52.

 

exactly and no the car is stock now. everything was taken off.

they ended up replacing ignitor, coil, rotor, cap, wires, plugs, dist, harness and ecu.
a fauly corroded wire in the harness caused it all.
i got her back yesterday.
