Default Buffing tail lights ?

Can this be done ? I have my stock ones off and before I put them back on I wanted to know if I can buff them and make them shine again. And would I do it the same way I buff metal and everything else ? Thanks

Both work well. The process is very similar to buffing a car, but you don't want to burn the plastic.

I just bought some columbian Tripoli compund. It saays for a bright, shiny luster to non ferrous metals, plastics wood and painted surfaces. Does this sound good ?

I had old nasty taillights, so I sanded em with 1500 grit sandpaper, then sprayed clear auto paint with a splash of House of Color transparent candy apple red pigment to the clear. 2 coats later, they are shining like a ruby. The pigment is like 15 bucks. Polishing the factory ones with plastic polish works ok too.

Tripoli works good with a power buffer. It's a little harsh for plastic, you can easily burn melt pastic. I use Tripoli mostly for gold. Try it on an old piece from a junkyard or something first.
