Default tein coilover

hi,
i'm just deciding whether i should get tein basic or tein ss for my civic.
i'm not really using it for auto-x or anything. just mostly daily driving, and a little bit of good handling.
just wondering, is the spring rate adjustable on the basic? anyone know the spring rate for both basic and ss?
thanks

spring rate is never adjustable. you can switch springs and get different rates, but you cannot change spring rates by turning a ****.

get the SS. both kits are garbage, but the SS will probably be a little bit more satisfying than the basics.

spring rates on the SS are 9kg/4kg. not sure what they are on the basics.

if you want Tein, go Flex... SS is WAY too soft for anything... Flex isn't even that hard.

for a DD: check what most people have that won't cost you an arm and a leg!

i've heard many good things about flex, but it's way out of my budget.
when people say the rate is 235F/140R, is that in lb? like...what's the metric for that?
thanks

Yeah that's a lb measurement of spring rate. metric equivalent will be the lb/56.

therefore 235/140 is like 4kg/2kg.

as far as the street goes, i'd be on ground controls with koni yellows and spring rates in the 350/300 range. if the car was pulling double duty (a/x or track and daily driving) i'd step it up to a 375/450 or a 425/500 depending on what kind of car you have and how much roughness you can stomach.

the GC/koni setup will cost you about 800 bucks-roughly the same price as the SS, with much better dampers and the same ride ht. adjustability.
