spring install
aight.. i'm planning to do a spring install on my cousins 01/02 civic 4door.. i wasnt sure wat the chasis code was for the car and i couldnt find anything with just typing 2001 spring install or 2002 spring install.. i was wondering if it would be the same as eg/ek or the same as the ep??
It should be the same as the ep, try this DIY and there may be more info on http://www.7thgencivic.com. The link is for a strut install, but it also details how to get the everything apart and off, put the new springs back on, and bolt it all up. It won't be the same as the eg/ek because of the change to mccpherson struts in 01+ civics.

You can skip steps 7-16 if you aren't replacing the struts.

wow, thats a really good right up. man, i pity those civic/rsx owners who have to deal with the macpherson setup. thats a pretty neat idea on how to secure the new insert. i was wondering what koni meant by their "patented" method.
Yeah, I agree, I definitely take the EF/DA/DB/DC/EG/EK suspensions for granted when it comes to swapping out springs and shocks. That looks like hell for a DIYer.
For the original poster: it shouldn't be too bad if you are just putting in new springs, but by the looks of that article, that civic had some very tired shocks after only 22k miles.
