Rotors Rub On Caliper

Rotors Rub On Caliper
I bought a front brake kit from "BrakeExpert" and I haven't been able to get a response from him yet so I'm trying to be proactive to get this figured out.
The kit I bought is a S2000 brake kit designed for an EG Civic. I can spin the rotor freely up to a point then it binds on the caliper for about 1/8th of a rotation. When I take the rotor off I can look inside the caliper above the brake pads and there are two fresh bare metal rub marks.
Is this a problem with the installation, my friend and I have tried to readjust everything several times but it still rubs. Could it be that the rotor was drilled incorrectly?
Why does it only rub on one part of the rotor? The rotor isn't round?
Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Im not sure to the real issue but are you by chance on a 15" wheel or 16". Just curious if 15"s would clear.

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
Just one side for now, I guess it could be a warped rotor, but they are brand new rotors, just redrilled to 4x100. I tried both rotors and both calipers, what are the chances of getting two warped rotors in a kit?

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
from the looks of it, it might be just a hair off when they redrilled. it.
oh, and pics of where it's rubbing. on the rotor, and on the caliper.
take measurements of the holes too. make sure it is centered.
or, if you're really bent about it, just grind down that part of the caliper bracket to clear.
*** looking at the vid again, it might not even be that bad. once you start to drive it, it'll grind it self down. only worry, or concern would be, if you get a shake when driving, or braking.

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
I thought about installing the brakes and then just driving it until it grinds down, but if the rotor is off center wouldn't that cause vibrations?
It's only rubbing VERY VERY slightly on the outside portion you can see. The bad part is the rubbing at two points on the inside of the caliper, that's where the binding occurs.
Normally I have no problem grinding something down or just letting the problem work itself out, but in the braking system, I'm concerned with doing that.

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
if not that, the caliper might be off a little. might need a washer or something. shimming it shouldn't do anything, as long as you shim it even.

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
was thinking that too, but he has the retaining screws in. it should be sitting flush with those.

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
cant tell much of the video other than its binding somewhere in the rotation. which obviously it shouldnt.
looks like those rotors were redrilled.
if its rubbing on the outer edge (the thin, non friction surface) at some portion, then the rotor is not mounted properly or on the concentric hub face. OR, which is very likely since they are redrilled, they werent drilled concentrically. send the rotor back.
if the rubbing is on the friction surface on some portion during the rotation, then the rotor is mounted off plane. there could be something between the rotor and hub. take it off, clean both surfaces. try again.

Re: Rotors Rub On Caliper
Double check the spindle. The bracket comes too close to the rotor's hat. Like unusually too close. Based on that video, the bracket isn't mounted right. Recheck the 17mm bolts, and make sure like the dust shield isn't causing the bracket to tilt.
