Sounds to me that you didn't use a Skunk2 Koni adapter ring but one of the rounded rings supplied with the Koni shocks, those are NOT intended for use with sleeves.
hahahahaha, i wish, no i bought the adapters, and installed them correctly, even went to a buddy of mines shop to ask him if i did it wrong, i wouldnt be as upset if i did do it wrong, but i will not be using the sleeves again, i wont take that chnce again, its a good thing i was were i was when it happend if it had happend twenty mins earlier i wouldnt have posted this at all, id have been in the hospital,

although the ride was good while it lasted, a lil harsher than expected at the softest setting but i think that was the spring rates, i liked them tho, just need to find a differnt spring with them,

Your saying that you have Skunk2 sleeves on Koni sports and it went over the adapters? Those aren't Skunk2 brand sleeves I'm guessing.

the sleeves came with the springs,
i ordered the adaptors
and yes the sleeve slid over the adptor, the adaptor looked like it was rolled orver the circlip, wich i was also told broke, the broken pieces are at the shop so on tuesday ill drop by there and pick them up to post pictures,

also im not knocking the company at all, it did ride well, atleast compared to oem blown shocks, idk if this was just freak thing or just a random bad quality in the adaptor or circlip.. i talked to i think paul with warrenty, the sad thing was it sounded like he could care less, he also said theres no way i can get my money back because the way they have it set up, you buy it from a dealer, not them, so they dont have to, even tho i went to there website to fill out the order, i dont really care as long as i can get my car back up in a short time.

I was not aware of a couple of things like Skunk2 made an actual adapter for this and Koni will not Honor the warranty if you use just the perch to mount the slip on's. I love this set up only because I already had the springs laying around. I would recommend getting GC over this any day because you can choose your spring rates and it's about same price and no need for extra parts buying.

Here we go.

Parts list
Koni 8041-1152 Fronts 8041-1213 Rears.
Skunk2 Koni adapter 517-99-0690
G/C Spring isolator MO2770 (they will not sell you this unless you already own G/C's hehe)
G/C top hats Hondamount 12MM KONI
Honda bump stops 57122-SR0-003 for the rear.

You must USE Skunk2 Koni adapter 517-99-0690 or you will void your Koni warranty.

Here is the grove where the circlip will rest.

This is what the circlip looks like installed on the shock.

It sits on the circlip and the sleeve rest on top of it. I didn't take pics of this my hands were trashed by then. I also received brand new O-rings from Skunk2 so I installed the medium sized ones using silicone lube and a flat tip screw driver to squeeze between the sleeve and shock. The sleeve sits really tight and ain't going no where. I don't care what anyone says about the GC's are better because the sit directly on the shock, I have seen Aircraft use O-ring setups like this mount to **** and do fine. My theory on that is if it's not pressed on or threaded on the body itself it ain't gonna make a damn difference. After this step just install everything like the instructions show.
Do you know what the inside diameter and outside diameter of the Skunk2 Koni adapter 517-99-0690 is?

Sorry I didn't have the caliper out to measure when I installed them.

^I'm curious too..
newb to suspension here...

I was planning on getting koni yellows for my s2 sleeves that I have on OEM shocks now, I knew about the s2 adapters, but what else is needed? I thought that was it. Do extended top hats have more function than allowing you to go slammed?

Nothing else is needed.

The hats give your shocks more piston travel when being lowered, you need not be slammed to benefit from them.

fyi, I ordered 2 sets and received the old design (in this thread) and a new design which does not have the groove but is wider in diameter. So basically a big washer.
I'm assuming this is to prevent rollover from the sleeves.

They don't make the car ride better, but it would give me a little more shock travel. In the pic below look how much piston travel you would lose before the spring actually makes contact to the top hat.

FYI: Just got a set of these adapters to put my drag launch coilovers on my Koni Yellows. Amazon had 3 pairs in stock, (I bought two) but no other website did.

I tried ordering from Nopi and from Andy's Autosport. Both refunded my money stating they were out of stock, but Andy's emailed me personally stating that Skunk2 discontinued this product May 21, 2013, and did not notify their retailers of the change.

Sorry to say, people in the future may be S.O.L. on these adapters. Just thought I'd post to an old thread so people searching (like I did) could read this.
