The New Koni Orange STR.T shocks
I guess the question is HOW LOW is low?
I ordered these to use with Eibach Sportlines on another car, and I've been running with stock shocks & sportlines on my '95 for several years.

I wouldn't go lower than 2'' with these. Any more, and you need to spring for the sports, or get illumnia's.
U Civic dudes have the world at ur fingertips anyway... why bother w/a questionable set of springs/shocks when u can get Koni Yellows on stockies for a decent drop + ride, or Progress CS-IIs for the same + more adjustability
I was hoping these would be good ofr us Accord folks but it looks like it's still Yellows or bust

I actually bought some koni orange strt and some h&r springs that give a 1 1/2 inch drop so i hope ima be in the safe range for these shocks and i bought this setup before i read this thread so i am kinda stuck with this, gonna install these in the weekend so i will check in as soon as i can with a review
I'm thinking its like any other shock. I had illuminas on a not-so-low car for a few thousand miles and one blew, yet other people have no probs. I've also seen so many with blown stockers, while mine haven't leaked a drop. It has been on sportlines since the last owner, and I think 1 more before that as well.
So maybe everyone's milage may vary based on driving style & roads. Time will tell, as I get my alignment tomorrow. Civic-spec sportlines on a DC4 with the tophats extended 1".

Glad I found this thread. I had ordered two rear str.ts for my wife's accord. Autoanything sent me a email saying that they were on backorder so I cancelled my order. I got Tokico HPs instead. However I was still thinking about getting these to go with my s techs for my EM1. I'm thinking I don't want them now. Thanks for the reviews, guys.
I put a set of these shocks on a 2000 gsr and 2 of them blew out in less than a year. This was using eibach pro kit springs and yes everything was installed correctly. Not really impressed I wouldn't recommend these to anyone, seem comparable to tokico blues.

Did you warranty these or contact Koni?
I'm new to this forum, & I'm so glad I found this thread. I was a few days away from ordering the Koni STR.T shocks for my 99 Civic EX sedan. I'm glad I didn't already buy them, so now I'm back to square one.
Ive put a couple years on my Oranges. With H&R sports and now ITR springs. zero problems. Autox'd a few times too. I honestly would go lower 2in or 275 spring rate to keep a good matching to the shocks.
if you blew the shocks you were either
1. using too high of spring rate
2. running the car too low
the str.t is the best $300/set shock on the market period
How were they with H&R sports?? did they last? Ive been researching for hours and still havent found any solid information. TIA!!
