Leaking on new coilovers?
I just received my set of Function and Form Type 2 coilovers from Weksos and was wondering if anyone had experience having this redish-amber colored fluid (possibly either oil or grease) coming from the top of the damper on one or all of their set? I've heard that sometimes from the factory it could be excess grease when constructing it, but find it odd that from my order it is only coming from one of them. Contacted Kenneth at Weksos and said it maybe a bad set and just wanted to get people's input since it may just be excess grease from the factory. I think it maybe a bad seal from the top. The box it came it showed no signs of someone dropping it, but found the plastic and the box separator damp with the fluid. Here's a few pics and let me know what you think.

That is way too much for it just to be "excess"
Definately get it replaced. F2 has a 1 year warranty so if you want you could go through them directly

Yeah, I thought so too that it was odd to have that much lubricant on the box...just got an e-mail from customer support at Function and Form and they just confirmed that they will replace the defective one and will send me a replacement. The customer support at Weksos and Function and Form are great and look forward to purchasing more products from them.

This isn't new at all. Probably the 4th or 5th thread I've seen about F&F shocks leaking when they arrived new from the dealer.
And you chodes think we're kidding when we tell you not to waste your money on F&F, Ksport, D2, and skunk2.

Re: Leaking on new coilovers?
Here's a thought. Why are you comfortable shipping it back to get a new one? If they were leaking when they were shipped to you, what do you think the likelihood is that they'll leak in the next year or so anyway?
This is certainly not the first leaking F&F thread I've seen and I doubt it will be the last. Why not return it for a refund and buy something with a food reputation for NOT sending faulty products out with frequency?

I have been saying this for a while as well. Looks like inspector number 5 didn't do his job

Re: Leaking on new coilovers?
No matter how many post, and claims that people have blown these, people will still buy them cause they are cheap. It just shows people don't really give a rats *** about their hard earned money. Just want to be slammed, and look good not seeing the bigger picture. PERIOD. Cause if they cared they'd save up for something better. To have one blown on a brand new set, and it was shipped is PATHETIC. Great quality control buddy.

Re: Leaking on new coilovers?
yes, they are a cheap set-up, however, some people cant fully afford to buy the best of the best. For example, as a full time student living on my own, I find it very difficult to save 2000 dollars for a legitimate set of coilovers. so I do plan on buying form functions. they are a good alternative if you are on a budget. I completely agree that good parts should be used, but if it is solely a daily driver, there is no need to buy racing coilovers. IMO.
