agx-shocks h&r-springs
took my coilovers off and put my springs back on, pulled out of my driveway and went down the street started hearing a clunking noise so i pulled over and the rear passanger side shock tower shot through the top hat and is sitting like a couple of inches above the top hat? i have had a blown shock b4 but how did this one do this?

you forgot the funny shaped washer under the dust cover. or it got misplaced and came off the shock rod when/if you tried adjusting it and hiding inside the dust cover.
#5 PLATE, BUMP STOP
install it correctly. everything should be fine.
(i swear i need to take a better picture of this...)

you should if you can (regular springs you can, they dont fit with any threaded sleeves). but you dont absolutely need to. theres no reason not to either.

The one your missing is a fat steel plate with a tappered seat that matches the tapered seat on the shock shaft perfectly. If you use a different type of washer with an OEM shock, it can easily bust it's way through and ruin the shock shaft...
