Default how difficult to replace struts?

one of my rear wheels is making this awesome knocking noise when I hit bumps.
Can I buy the parts and replace it myself, or must I pay 300-400 bucks for a garage to fix it?
Thanks.

Never done any suspension work, I can't even diagnose it myself. Looks like it just needs to go to a Mechanic. Thanks, though!

it is really easy, for the rear you just need to remove like 4-5 bolts.
