Default ....Help with Subframe Damage....

Well, a week ago, I started hearing a lot of noise coming from the rear passenger side of my 94 GSR. I knew it was suspension related since it only made a lot of noise when I was going sideways up or down driveways. See pics below from what I found when I jacked up my car:

So my question is, what are my options and how do I go about fixing this? Once/if it gets fixed, I plan on getting an asr brace with the itr rear sway bar.... This sucks.... Any suggestions?

(btw, I believe the sway bar thats on it right now is made by neuspeed....came on the car when I bought it 9 years ago!)

Obviously you want to immediately pull the end links, sway and mounting bracket till you get the ASR piece.

the good news is that it doesn't look that bad. the bracket that holds the sway bar gets removed anyway. the question is how bad is the hole in the subframe?
from the pic it looks like a well placed and well shaped washer will take care of it. Of course with the ASR piece in place.

Thanks for your response.... Here's a closer up pic of the damage. (yeah, the camera wouldn't focus that close for some reason).

Do you think it would be safe to drive around with out the entire rear sway assembly (brackets, end links, etc) until I do get my asr rear brace?

yeah it looks to be safe to drive around temporarily without your sway.

as long as the LCA bolt that goes into the subframe isn't fubar'd.

I don't see any way that it would cause problems.
me personally, I'd drive more cautious but I would drive it.

i've heard about this happening although never seen pictures.....

how many mm's was the sway?
what were your spring rates?.... sometimes without a brace if you have too low of spring rates it will cause severe damage. still sucks tho, get it fixedd.

Not too sure....I believe its the neuspeed sway bar. Came on the car when I bought it 9 years ago. It doesnt look any thicker than the itr one though. As for the spring rates.... I'm rollin on tein ha's that were originally for an itr....reasoning for me running the itr lca's. Still need to buy an ASR rear brace and itr rear sway and I'll be bringing it by the shop.

If your going by the shop to get a CTR sub-frame installed like RedZone posted, you don't need to buy an ASR brace...

I don't want to replace the entire subframe unless I absolutely have to. I'm on a budget right now so I'm hoping RedZone can work their magic and save me a big chunk of change.

Thats a 19mm Neuspeed rear sway that uses the stock sway mounting brackets.

Looks like it just pulled the bolt/nut thru the subframe. The subframe itself doesn't seam to be torn all the way to the edges.

Just an update...... Finally got it fixed!

Brought it to Redzone Performance located in Fremont, CA. They welded the hole, cleaned it up, and mounted my asr brace along with the blox rear sway bar and end links!!! Thanks again Redzone!!!! You guys do great work!

I didn't have all the right things to polish it with, so I did what I could...its "semi-polished" by hand

Looks excellent, shiny yet has that machined look to it. Crazy that it did that on a 19mm bar. How long were you riding with that setup before the incident?

Well, I bought the car back in 98, and the original owner had it installed before the sale....so its probably been about 9 years! damn, its already been that long?!

Hiero wurd ! Thought I'd throw that out. Anyways, did you track your car often, or do a lot of spirited driving in the twisties? What's your spring/shock combo as well? Just trying to gather a little data for the masses that are currently running this bar, plan on running it, or something similar in size.
