Ground Control coilover identification?
I'm thinking about buying a set of Ground Control coilovers that were bought but never installed.
Seller says they are intended for an '01 Civic, but otherwise has very little info. When you order from Ground Control, you are supposed to specify which shocks/struts you are using. Is there any way to tell which shocks/struts they are intended to work with?
The springs rates also vary. Is there a way to tell what the spring rates are?
Thanks,

But, when you order, you need to specify which brand/model struts/shocks you are using and they ship the appropriate coilovers. I just don't know what all is different between them, I think it is just the springs seats that are different. But even with that, I haven't seen both (or more?) types to be able to tell them apart.
What? Do you actually have, or are going to get, any of the shocks in the drop down list? Why are you making it harder than it needs to be?
Yes and because I'm a cheap bastard.
I can get these for half the price that I can find them elsewhere. I need new struts, and will be buying some, but the list of struts that I would buy is smaller than the list that Ground Control offers coilovers for. I don't want to buy them and find out they won't work with any of the struts I want.

Yes?
Dude, if they look anything like stock then these will work. Again, making things harder than it needs to be. If you would come off the list of shocks/struts you're considering, cheap bastardness aside, then you would have gotten a straight answer in the second post.
Example: Will _______________ shocks/struts work with this GC kit?

OK.
Will __Koni Yellow__ shocks/struts work with this GC kit?
Will __Tokico Blue__ shocks/struts work with this GC kit?
The answer is not yes to both...
I figured out that they have different part numbers and I'm hoping he has something showing that. There are also different part numbers for different years and the Si.
From what I have found, I believe these are how the different Ground Control part numbers correspond to the various years and shock/strut combinations:

- 4531.01 '01 Civic w/ stock or Tokico
- 4531.02 '01 Civic w/ Koni Yellow
- 4531.03 '01 Civic w/ KYB AGX
- 4532.01 '02 Civic w/ stock or Tokico

- 4534.01 '03-'05 Civic w/ stock or Tokico

If I knew that, I wouldn't be asking...
The guy has been difficult to get replies from and doesn't seem to know much about cars, but he agreed to look up the part number on the box.

Over-complicating things. Is there something you have against phone calls? Like one to the PO? Or maybe one to Ground Control?
Um, I did call the seller. I tried to contact them over and over and over again. The seller was difficult to contact and knew so little little about cars that I couldn't get my questions answered. Someone else was going to install the kit for them but they sold the car instead.
