Function and form type 1 input please..
so lately on honda tech i been reading about the function and form type 1 suspension for 630. i just want feedback from someone that has experience with it. because im planning to get one... how the ride? custom rate for us to choose? how low can it go. any picture with f2 suspension would b nice ( i have a db8). basicly how is it overall.
PS. if we can choose our spring rate. whats the best for street use. i lived in the east coast so the street is bumppyyyyy. i dont wanna feel every bump. and i dont wanna bottom out in the front. thank you.!

koni/gc would be a perfect choice for you guys with everything you stated..
those coilovers will only last probably not even up to a year before a shock blows out or the adjustment **** messes up..
those coilovers are a joke man, everyone on this board will recommend koni/gc.. u can pick your own spring rates and both parts have lifetime warranty, i wouldn't trade mine for anything  btw i have 400f/450R on my 99 civic. i wish i went a little stiffer but i'm happy..
plus GC sells extended top hats to help the "bottoming" out of your suspension

I have type I's on my accord, I like them. I live in Los Angeles and the roads are a lil bumpy but they handle pretty well. There not too stiff and not to soft. My friends that ride in my car describes it as a bit stiffer compared to stock. Some people may say its too soft for them because its considered a full coilover but F2's are kinda meant for daily driving.
I think there perfect for me though. If you get type II's the only difference is pretty much dampering adjustability and camber plates, but overall the type I's are like a perfect balance for street and maybe track. I take my car canyoning sometimes and it handles well up there. As for how low they can go, they can go pretty damn low. I would have been slammed on the floor when i first put them on, but i couldnt even get into my own driveway, so i had to raise it. heres some pics. The first few pics were when i first put them on and my car was slammed, the couple after that is when i raised it a bit and the springs settled in.

i had the first gen F2's. didnt like them.when i softend them up ride felt like i was floating when i hit bumps. then when i stiffened them felt like i was riding on bricks and car hoped off the ground when i would hit a pebble! and like they have stated if you plan on riding "DUMPED" kiss your 600 pesos good bye
i have the type 1s got em around a year ago and there still holding up very well. i like mine the back is very stiff and you feel everything in the back. i live in la and the roads are horrible but where the roads are paved well they handle very very good for the price. as for going slammed these type 1's will go to the floor but i dont recommend it
why would the shock blow fast if your only adjusting the lower sleeve/perch. do you guys know how to use coilovers (not being a smartass BTW)? or is the the lower sleeve/perch not go low enough. explain
OP, i dont have personal experience with the FF second gen type I's but i haven't heard any compliants about them. The only complaints i've heard were from the first gen FF coilovers, some people had blown shocks after a year of use. I'm not sure what the cause was and if FF fixed the problem or not but i wouldn't worry so much about it. You can never know if its a user error or manufactor error. There's just so many factors for every situation.
IMO, the second gen FF type I's looks like a promising entry level (non adj) full coilover. They wouldn't personally suit my needs but like i said they are a good entry level full coilover.
The FF type II's have great reviews as well, but in that price range there are other full coilovers which are better.
As for riding "slammed" with these full coilovers, i'm sure you can to a certain extent. Full coilovers were made for lowered cars, this is why full coilovers have the preload feature. Aslong as the preload is set right, you can lower your car to your hearts desire (aslong as the preload is set right!). Preload is there so you still maintain full shock travel while lowering a vehicle.
Here's a vid. from skunk2 about preload adjustment. Their talking about there Pro-C full coilover but it applies to all full coilover setups as well.

With the F2's you wouldnt have to worry about messing with the preload. The preload is already set for you from the factory, all you have to worry about is just adjusting it to the ride hight that you want it at. As for the coilovers blowing, I think the people that have had that happen to them didn't know how to adjust the coilover. F2's are fully threaded coilovers and are meant to go low. Even though if you slam them to the max (which i still dont recommend) the shock travel still remains the same. Some other brands tell you to adjust the coilover height from the spring perch which reduces your shock travel, but those shocks are kinda built for that. The F2's shock travel would remain the same no matter what height you place it at so they wouldn't blow right away.
I have the new version of the type I's and I know what they can do. btw if you want a set, pm me and ill get you a good price on either type I or II

I just received my set of FF2's brand new from Weksos and just wondering if its normal (from the factory) if one of the coilovers to have some excess lubricant oil from the top of the dampener? When I opened the box, I noticed some oil dampness on the box holding one of the front coilovers. This is my first time buying a set and from my knowledge, could it be a bad seal? The box seemed to be in good shape like it hasn't been dropped, but just concerned before I install them.
I recently bought a set of type ones. Extremely nice ride and id probably say they are the 2nd gen since i just bought them. The ride can go ultra low but of course not recomended because you spent some mad cash on some good coilovers.
Obviously better than shitty coilover sleeves but more money means better performance. So id also say that if i spent the extra 300 i couldve bought typetwo or GC, or another set. Overall rating is really good though 9/10
You can adjust the ride height and shock body. really good daily driving and a little bit stiffer ride than stock, but no body roll out of the suspension at high speeds. I have mine at the middle of the shock body travel so i can get in between stiff and soft travel. good ride height. never bottoms out......can definately drive dumped though
im also selling my suspension cause i want to buy rims, got them a month ago and i want to let them go for cheap 350.00 and your stock suspension.

and when i attempted to go low for a few days

^^^are you adjusting the preload?? realistically your not suppose to touch the spring preload, but just the shock body. you can adjust the shock body all the way down and NOTHING will blow. dont be affraid to set them lower
. if you adjust the preload to much then you should be worry about blowing them.
anyhow, i took a test ride with my boy that got type 1's and my review was A+ for those. i think using the term "stiff" is the wrong description. i think the right term should be "firm". excellent ride, not rough at all, well compared to my buddyclub RSD on my s2. but he has an accord wagon as well as i do. i just purchased the type 1's after and theyll be installed this weekend. i cant wait!!!

no ive never touched the preload, what is that? cause all i did was adjust the shock body by winding it up, only time ive adjusted the shock body was the first time when i bought them to stick them on to my car. Your saying i can lower the shock body and still not blow anything?
and your right about the ride quality just a bit firmer than stock.
how would you even adjust the preload?
